Accessibility Statement

Last updated 2026-05-20 · Draco Learning LMS

Draco Learning LMS is designed and developed to be usable by everyone, including users of assistive technology. We follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our conformance target.

What we've done

  • Keyboard navigation throughout. Every interactive element is reachable via Tab, with visible focus indicators that meet WCAG contrast minimums.
  • Semantic HTML — proper headings, landmarks (<main>, <nav>, <aside>), and ARIA labels on interactive components.
  • Color contrast verified for both light and dark themes — all body text and UI labels meet or exceed 4.5:1 contrast in normal weight, 3:1 in large.
  • Screen-reader-friendly labels on every form field, table, and icon-only button.
  • Form errors announced with role="alert" and inline error messaging tied to the field via aria-describedby.
  • Status changes announced through ARIA live regions for toasts, dialog opens, and reactivation banners.
  • No motion that can't be paused. Animations respect prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Resizable text up to 200% without layout breakage.
  • High-contrast dark mode for users who find low-contrast surfaces difficult to read.
  • Spanish localization of the full UI (en/es toggle in the topbar).

What we're still working on

  • A formal third-party audit by a WCAG-credentialed consultancy (we follow the controls; the certification is on the 2026 roadmap).
  • Improvements to the rich-text course editor for screen-reader users authoring lessons.
  • Captioning workflow for video lessons uploaded to the Course Builder.

How to report a barrier

If you encounter a barrier while using Draco Learning LMS, please email damien@dracolearning.com with:

  • The page or feature where the barrier occurred (URL helpful)
  • The assistive technology you were using (screen reader version, browser, OS)
  • A brief description of what you expected versus what happened
We respond to accessibility reports within 2 business days and prioritize them in our development queue.

Standards we reference

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1
  • Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) digital accessibility principles
