Approval status

Draco Learning is pursuing formal approval as an online continuing education provider with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and with the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Psychiatric Technicians (PTs).

  • CDPH (CNA) Provider Number (NAC#): Pending — application in process; the number will be posted here upon approval.
  • BVNPT (LVN/PT) CE Provider Number: Pending — application in process; the number will be posted here upon approval.
Until each approval is issued, our courses are offered as professional-development / continuing education and award a certificate of completion; once a provider number is issued, the corresponding approval number is printed on every certificate for that audience.

Course standards

  • Topics are limited to direct/indirect patient care, infection control, safety, nutrition,
resident rights, abuse prevention, dementia care, and related clinical subjects. We do not offer self-improvement, financial, or general-interest content.
  • Every course publishes learning objectives, a content outline, an online interactive
delivery method, and a post-test method of evaluation (passing score 80%).
  • Course content is authored/reviewed by a qualified, currently-licensed instructor of record
whose credentials are kept on file (see below).

Instructor of record

  • Instructor: Damien Draconum, LVN
  • Title: Director of Staff Development · Clinical Instructor
  • Qualifications: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); Director of Staff Development (DSD); Clinical Instructor; multiple years of experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living.
The instructor of record holds a current California license and meets the CDPH and BVNPT instructor-qualification criteria for the subject matter taught. The instructor's resume/CV and license verification are on file and available to the boards on request.

Online delivery & contact hours

  • Each learner has a unique, secure login (user ID + password) that confirms participant identity.
  • Courses include an interactive portion — inline knowledge checks and a graded post-test that
return immediate feedback based on the learner's responses — and content cannot be skipped.
  • Time is tracked per learner. We use a 60-minute contact hour for online CE.
  • CDPH online limit: CNAs may apply a maximum of 24 of the required 48 CE hours online per
two-year certification period; the remaining hours must be completed in a live setting.

Certificates & record retention

  • Each certificate of completion includes the participant's name and license/certificate number,
the course name and date, the number of online CE hours, the provider's approval number (once issued), a unique certificate ID, and a public verification link.
  • Certificates are independently verifiable at
[dracolearning.com/lms/verify.php](https://dracolearning.com/lms/verify.php).
  • Retention: completion records are retained for at least four (4) years. Participants
should also retain their certificates for four (4) years from the date of completion.

Audit access

A read-only reviewer account and course-completion records are available to CDPH and BVNPT representatives on request for audit, including a live login to review any course end-to-end.

Refunds, cancellation & complaints

  • Refunds/cancellation: contact us within 30 days of purchase if you have not completed a
course and we will issue a refund.
  • Complaints/grievances: email damien@dracolearning.com; we acknowledge within 2 business days
